Located in the heart of the Perth CBD over the existing heritage Old Treasury Building, this new 34 storey tower was to become a significant landmark.
The building features an expressed, external steel diagrid structural frame that removes all internal perimeter columns from within the office floor, allow greater fit out flexibility for tenants and end users. The floorplates are highly efficient with a side core combining two lift rises which utilise a destination lift control system.
The urban context is sensitively addressed through the lightweight interface of tower and plaza. This is achieved specifically by designing fine angled steel frames that open up and reveal the original heritage facades of the Old Treasury Building and the Old Town Hall, creating a new civic plaza for the city of Perth.
The top of the tower has also been utilised to incorporate a new dedicated public viewing platform with panoramic views over the city in all directions.
